This page explains what this website collects, who receives it, and how to have it removed. It covers the website only. If you become a client, the engagement letter and the firm's own information security programme govern your tax records, and those are separate documents.

What this site collects

One thing: what you type into the contact form. Specifically:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number, if you choose to give it. The field is optional.
• Whatever you write in the message box

Nothing else. The form deliberately does not ask for a Social Security number, figures from a return, or a document upload, and there is no field on this site where you could enter one.

What this site does not do

No cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and no third party sets one through it. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

No tracking or advertising

No advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no session recording, no heatmaps, no social media trackers.

The map does not load until you ask it to

What you see first is a flat image. It contacts Google not at all. If you press "Drag and zoom the map", a Google Maps frame loads at that point, and Google may then set its own cookies and see your IP address, under Google's policy rather than ours. That is your choice to make, which is why it is behind a button. The "Get directions" link works the same way: it only reaches Google once you click it.

No profile building

What you send through the form is read and replied to. It is not combined with data from anywhere else, not sold, and not shared for anyone else's marketing.

Who receives what you send

Three parties, and no others:

Clever Taxes Elite

The firm itself, at clevertaxes@gmail.com. This is where your message lands and who replies to it.

Web3Forms

A form-relay service. It receives the submission and forwards it to the firm's inbox. It acts as a processor: it handles the message to deliver it, and for no purpose of its own.

The hosting provider

[hosting provider: Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, or whoever it ends up being] serves the pages and, like every web server, keeps short-lived request logs that include IP addresses.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Because you asked us to contact you. You typed your details into a form whose only purpose is starting a conversation, and we use them for exactly that. If you would rather we had not, say so and we will delete them — see below.

How long it is kept

[Decide and state a real period. A concrete example: enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted after 24 months. Pick something you will actually do — a period you do not honour is worse than a longer one you do.]

Having it deleted

Email clevertaxes@gmail.com and ask. You can also ask what we hold, ask for a copy, or ask us to correct something wrong. We will reply within 30 days.

One limit worth stating plainly: if you became a client, tax records are subject to retention rules that override a deletion request. Those rules are not ours to waive. This only applies to engagement records, never to an enquiry that went nowhere.

Children

This site is aimed at adults dealing with their own tax affairs. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
